I decided to give star trails a try. I looked up online a little bit about how to do it and then set up the tripod outside. I pointed the lens up and started shooting in 30-second bursts for about twenty minutes. Here’s the end result.
20 minute star trail.
The next time I do this, I’d like to do it with a remote shutter closer and I’d like to get some sort of landscape in the frame such as the house or a tree. I think it’s pretty good for a first try, but I’d like to do it again.
The other thing I tried was light trails. I had my sister get in her new car and drive by the driveway while I took a photo. Here’s the result!
4 second exposure, 100 ISO, f/3.5
