So, I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:
…In Japan! I’ve been looking forward to seeing the movie ever since I read the sixth book, which was my favorite of the books. George, Asami, and Lauren came with. Nate didn’t go because he hasn’t seen any of the movies nor read any of the books.
The movie didn’t start until 9, so we hung out at the mall for a bit first. We did some purikura together:

We found a mini-bus in the arcade, so we took a few pictures there, too.
Asami driving the bus.
Asami and I driving the bus. I just did the shifting, though.
When we were done at the arcade we went up to the theater to see Harry Potter!
So, thoughts on the movie:
It was my favorite of the six, as the book was. It had a lot of comedy / romance as well as the growing, looming, darkness that is the finale. The end of the series is getting pretty close, although they are splitting the final movie into two parts for some reason. I don’t think it’s necessary, but I guess they want to spend a lot of time on the epilogue and answering questions without people getting restless at the end of the movie.
The beginning and ending of the movie were changed a little bit. I think this lead to some confusion over whether or not a certain someone (who for the sake of not revealing spoilers I won’t name) is really dead or not. They cut out the funeral scene at the end, but I assure you (having read the books) that he/she is dead.
While I really enjoyed the movie, no one else seemed to. Asami said it was too dark, George said it wasn’t dark enough and it was boring, Lauren said that there was too much romance and they took out the funeral scene, her favorite part.Oh well, can’t win them all. Regardless, see Harry Potter 6.
