Saturday afternoon I did some shopping around town by myself. Didn’t really find much, but I got some flowers for my host mother. Later in the evening, I went out to eat Nagasaki Champon with my host family, neighbors, and Nozomi. Nagasaki Champon is the food that Nagasaki is famous for. When I said I was going to study abroad in Nagasaki, all of my Japanese friends told me I should definitely try Nagasaki Champon. Well, I finally got to give it a try.
This is Ringer Hut, the most famous of the Champon restaurants. They are everywhere in Nagasaki. This one was in a mall.
My Champon. It was good, but I think it was hyped up too much!
After eating, we went upstairs to the arcade because the kids wanted to play. I won some things from the UFO catchers for them. I even won some Coolish out of one. Not an easy win!
Nozomi and Yuuna playing Taiko.
It was a good day! Here’s my host mom with her Mother’s Day flowers I got:
Today was a short day. I got up late, went and got my haircut and did some shopping. I got a really great deal at the book store. I bought the entire Death Note manga collection (12 books) for exactly ￥1000 (a little less than 10 dollars). That’s about 12 times cheaper than in the states. In the US, each book is ten dollars. I like Death Note and it will be great Japanese practice, too. Great deal all around.
Later, I went to eat dinner with Nozomi and family.
Hello! Let’s eating!
All done eating!
