It’s Sunday! I woke up and put my futon outside because the weather was nice. I checked my email, had some breakfast, took a shower and got ready to go. My host mom was out with Nozomi, so I just left when I was ready and took the bus down to Anperos to meet Akina, Tina and Kelly. As we were walking towards the sushi restaurant we wanted to go to, we saw Amina on the way from across the street. She had been out all night and was just returning home. We said she could go home later and called her over. She joined us and we went to the kaiten sushi restaurant. It was great!! George would be jealous…we tried to eat there on Thursday night but the wait was too long and eventually had to leave. Poor George… lucky me.
Akina and I taking our first plate.
Just a passing melon boat…
Kaiten sushi. It goes around and around and you pick the ones you want to eat. Count up the plates at the end and multiply it by 105 yen for your bill.
Me eating squid sushi.
I found a pineapple boat!!
My humble stack of 8 plates. Red plates mean the dish contains wasabi, blue means it doesn’t. Green is specialty (pineapple boat).
After eating some great sushi, Nate called us and asked if he could go bowling with us. We gathered at Asobi Douraku and went up to the second floor to get some lanes.
Japanese bowling. No different than American bowling.
Bowling! This one is small, it was taken from Akina’s cellphone.
Kaiti showed up and joined us. Nate then declared that it was “on” and we were locked in a battle to see who could get the highest game.
Nate struggles futilely to beat me.
I beat him in both games. These were the final scores…
Crushed him. After all that trash-talk, too. He didn’t know who he was dealing with.
We got print outs of the scores. Might have to frame it…
After bowling, we went and did some puri-kura! Here are our photos:
