I was officially accepted into the Nagasaki Study Abroad program for Spring 2009. Now I learn that you can’t live in the dorms at Nagasaki, you must live with a Host Family. This idea doesn’t excite me too much. I would feel like an incredible burden, I don’t know if I even want to do it anymore… not to mention it’s an estimated 12,000 dollars or so. I need to decide within 3 weeks and make a $150 payment if I’m going.

In other news, I was talking to Larry about my computer’s ventilation, and I think I might have to do some projects in order to add another fan on the top or something. I’m not very good with handiwork, nor do I have a dremel though so I don’t know what to do about that. The case is very quiet, but the price that I pay for that is the heat. I would also really like to sand the side doors to the case with a power sander and repaint it so that it has a matte finish rather than glossy. I hate glossy surfaces. The rest of the case is matte, except for the doors.

Bryan and I watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High for the first time. Oh, the 80’s. It was actually very funny, and very interesting to compare and contrast current movies with this one and what has changed. I noticed that there was a lot of sexual discussion, but it was much more blunt. Now, it’s dealt with mostly in innuendo and insinuations. The general conversation lingo was funny just because it sounded unusual. Of course people don’t say things like “bombdiggity” and “cowabunga” anymore, but I’m sure they did in the 80’s. The movie was a bit risque I thought, especially since it was intended for high schoolers in the 80’s. Or maybe I was just expecting such a dated film to be much more tame. I thought overall this was a pretty good film that withstood 26 years of time very well.

I have had a lot of papers to write lately. School work is getting pretty heavy, and also I have a work project going on. I have to write the lesson plan for Advanced Photoshop Techniques and it’s a fairly daunting task considering the limitless amount of things you can do with Photoshop and also the intricacies of the procedures.

Also, the weather has been miserable this week.
