was a big let down for me. I had expected a lot having heard a lot of really interesting things about it. I have not read the book (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick) yet, but it is sitting on my desk waiting to be opened after I finish Kite Runner (I still am very excited to read the book and remain optimistic it will be better than the movie). I did not feel any connection to this story or the characters. Everything was so flat. The villains sucked, I felt no sympathy for the hero, and the bad guys died too quickly. None of the interesting concepts of the book really shown through like the subtle undertones of android ethics and if there truly is a difference between humans and androids that are fully human in their anatomy and thoughts. A lot is left untouched or unexplained. Everything was just set up pretty poorly I thought. A shame considering this movie is very highly regarded and even has a large fan following.
A Pleasant surprise! Dane Cook’s best film to date (although not really his movie, he does really get to show off his non-comedic talent while sharing the screen with Kevin Costner). It was great and I really enjoyed it! The characters and story were all very well weaved and it kept me entertained and interested all the way until the great ending. All I can really say is “Wow, I really liked this.” I recommend Mr. Brooks!
