I went down to Brickhouse Music and finally picked up an amp and a whammy bar. The whammy bar was cheap but the amp was a little more than I was expecting to pay. I just got the cheapest thing they had that was standard size for practice and went home to try it out. It’s a lot of fun playing guitar with an amp! It’s a whole new world, basically…the notes ring out and you can hear hammer-ons without strumming on the string first. The distortion quality isn’t that great, but I wanted to get some jam time in before moving back to the dorms. It sounds pretty good for a Fender knock-off (if the audio seems quiet, it’s because the mic is in the back of the camera):
Today after work I went and saw Iron Man at the Budget with Bryan, Mike, Sarah, Niji, Brian and Jenna. It was fun, but the movie didn’t live up to the hype that Bryan and Mike gave me at all. They all said it was so good, but it wasn’t really anything special.
Then again, I am not one for super-hero movies. I also found all of the technology in this movie to be far too outlandish and far-fetched. Yeah, yeah…it’s a movie, it requires suspension of disbelief. But that’s one of my main gripes with superhero movies… too unrealistic.
